Nothing to do with any political party! (4 July 2024)
I’ve had some joy attempting to find renewed purpose despite health challenges. Breaking tasks into bite sized chunks over time helps enormously. Multiple reasonable adjustments required. (Vision, Fatigue, Memory…)
I find it easier when only one person talks at a time. I’ve started to preach and even planned and led a bible study group. I am exceptionally well supported by others.
Thank you for this image Ruby.
Sixty second sermon summary for the above…
Jesus and disability
20% of the UK have a disability. If you don’t have any in your church, you are not serving all of your community.
Most disabilities are not visible. Church NEEDS people with impairment. They add value you can’t learn from books.
With reasonable adjustment, those with disability should be enabled to contribute. People are far more than customer consumers.
Equality is stronger in scripture than the secular world. Does it feel like that in your church? What does your church feel like to those with impairment? How do you know? Can people be honest about their challenges in your church?
The good news is for all people. We are all equal at the cross of Christ.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12: 9-10 NIV)
